"StepMom Roundtable Featuring An Interview with Wednesday Martin" on the next "Co-Parenting Matters"

Wednesday Martin has been called the "patron saint" of stepmothers. Her book "Stepmonster: A New Look at Why Real Stepmothers Think, Feel, and Act the Way We Do" has been hailed internationally for revealing the real deal about stepmothering, beyond the "evil" stereotype. In this week's episode of Co-Parenting Matters on BlogTalkRadio, we're talking with some of our favorite stepmoms about "Stepmonster" and their personal evolution as stepmothers: Mike's wife, Sherry Thomas; Heather Hetchler, founder,; and Brigette Lemos-Norman, @BioStepMom on Twitter, and founder of the blog, In the Blender. In a pre-recorded interview with Deesha, Wednesday Martin will discuss the challenges a stepmom may face (the guilt, the feeling like an outsider in her own home), the complexities of the relationships with her stepchildren, and why it's important to eschew the unrealistic expectations and demands that our culture places on her--and that often, she places on herself.

Courtesy of CafeSmom, we are giving away a fantastic Cafesmom gift basket: a stainless steel smom travel mug,  a smom cap, a bag of Lindt Chocolate Truffles (just because) and a coupon for $5.00 off a future CafeSmom gift shop order.  (a $45.00 value).  There are 2 EASY ways to enter:

1) Leave a question for our featured smoms in the comments section below or on Twitter (@coparentingshow, @coparenting101, or @weparent).  We'll answer your question on Sunday's show.

2) Give a shout-out to a stepmom in your life, via comments or Twitter.  We'll read these on the show as well.

Enter as often as you'd like!  Winner will be chosen and announced during Sunday's show.

This is going to be a great show. Martin's book is THE Stepmom Manual! I am so honored to be a part of this Stepmom Roundtable.

Her book is one that I recommend to all stepmoms regardless of what stage of the journey they are on.

See you Sunday.

Can't wait. So thrilled to be on the show with such amazing women.

You all know how much I love Wednesday. I credit Stepmonster with restoring my sanity (as much as it can be restored!).

Talk to you Sunday.

The woman who birthed me first kicked me out of her home at 15. Over and over again, I tried to move back in, but she would lock me out as punishment for not accepting her religion. Ultimately, my father's first wife (my father had been deceased) took me in & called me one of her own. My stepmother has shared more motherly love with me than all the years I lived with the woman who birthed me. She advised me through all milestones of womanhood, and instilled deep pride within me. I am grateful for my stepmother - but because I don't have a "mom" in the woman who birthed me, I call my stepmother "MOMMY". I am so very blessed. Rita McCoy is the most amazing woman on earth, and I am blessed to call her my very own MOM.

Thank you for interviewing me Deesha, and thank you to the women who were part of the roundtable for all their insights. You all are doing something important and admirable for couples, kids of all ages, and women with stepchildren. xx wednesday

Wednesday thanks for stopping by and for your kind words. We had so much more to talk about, including clips from your wonderful interview that didn't air. In May, we are going to have a joint Mom/Stepmom Roundtable and will be sharing the remainder of your interview then. Can't wait! Thanks again for the interview, and for being such a catalyst for positive change in the lives of stepmoms and their families!
